I really like having the extra layers up front for my boys.  I hate wasting all the layers at the back, because they just need to keep the poo off the cover.

Start with the prefold seams running horizontally (From bottom to top: Toddler LL, unbleached Premium LL, Red GMD)

*LL = Little Lions
GMD = Green Mountain Diapers

 Boys Fold the top section down

Girls Leave them unfolded
 Bring in the sides, then fold in half to get the pads.

You can see that the shorter prefolds (GMD) make a narrower pad.  Tuck into your covers and “apply” to baby

BOY FOLD II

I like this fold too, but not with the GMD prefolds as they are too short.  They don’t have enough to fold down

Start with the prefold seams running vertical

Fold the top down to match your cover of choice for length.

I did this alot with my oldest and I remember folding down almost a third of the premium pfs to fit them in M Thirsties.

Fold in thirds along the seams of the pf

Stuff in cover of choice and “apply” to baby.  My older son needed the toddler pfs for absorbancy before he PLed, so we used them in flips, blueberry coveralls, and medium Thirsties.  I wouldn’t call them trim at all, but no other diapers would hold enough pee for him at that stage.

*Note from Diaper Pin – Green Mountain Diapers are a trimmed prefold and Little Lions are a traditional length prefold.  Little Lions are no longer being made, but they are comparable to most traditionally sized prefolds. *
