46 Comments on Fastening Cloth Diapers Made Easy

  1. Melissa says:

I think you should give a boingo away to one lucky (and curious!) reader :-)

  2. Jessica says:

I used pins mostly on my first, pad folded with my second and am using a snappi most of the time with my third. I did add snaps to some of my prefolds and I liked that as well.

  3. Renee says:

Padfolding is by far the easiest way to put on a diaper in our house… I even took the example photo 😉 Next in line is pins, oddly enough.

  4. bree says:

padfolding fan here for sure – especially for a wriggly baby!

  5. Elizabeth says:

I usually just padfold during the day, but for the times that I use flats at night I fasten them with a snappi. I have used pins before, but I find the snappi easier and quicker.

  6. Emily says:

  7. Jennifer says:

Pad Folding (Tri-folding) is my mainstay. I used to attempt the pins (poked myself too many time) and snappis (for some reason, they made their way off–not always but enough time)…so I said, make it easy and stick to the tri-fold or buy a few fitteds!

  8. Emily says:

Pad folding for flats, snappi for prefolds, and either pins or snappi for closure less fitteds

  9. chicka.chicka says:

I do pad folding most of the time. For fastened prefolds I like pins. For folded flats I prefer snappis.

  10. Anne Sweden says:

When I’m not trifolding or pad-folding…..Boingos are my go-to fastener. For some reason, I kept getting scratched by our Snappi’s. I like that when you buy Boingos, you get a pair. And for tiny newborns with little waists, only 1 Boingo is needed, so it’s like getting a freebie!

  11. Traci C. says:

I just lay prefolds in a cover, but if I had to I’d probably use a snappi or boingo :)

  12. Jenny says:

Ive always preferred pins but snappis are good too. Have not tried the Boingo and we don’t use wraps.

  13. Jennifer says:

I usually snappi or pad fold. I tried pins but I couldn’t get a good fit. Never tried a boingo.

  14. Olivia L says:

I mostly use Snappis for my prefolds. Pins scare me!

  15. Mechele Johnson says:

I use the pad fold. It has always worked best for me and my daughter. She is a heavy wetter and it provides the most protection.

  16. sophieandmomma says:

I currently use a Snappi with my prefolds…

  17. stephanie h says:

We use boingos or just fold the diaper into a cover.

  18. Beth Rees says:

We use boingos and and just lay the diaper in the cover as well. It seems to work the best for us

  19. Leela R says:

We use a snappi or pad folding, but I’d love to try boingos!

  20. Brittany says:

I use snappis or pad fold pretty much all the time. I’ve used pins a few times.

  21. Heather M says:

I like the Snappi and Pad Fold.
Even with a flat or prefold I just put a cover on over it (even if it’s not pad folded) it usually stays in place.
I used pins with my daughter, but my son doesn’t stay still enough.

  22. Jen H says:

i really liked the snappi when my boy was little but now we just lay in the cover… the ties though are a fantastic idea! so pretty too!

  23. Erin B. says:

I have only ever used Snappis! They are awesome!

  24. Cowboyswife says:

I have used everything except the ties – but mostly padfold – I’ve been using a pin on my fitteds with worn velcro when I let me go coverless the last few days though – I may have rediscovered the pin love.

  25. Karyn says:

    I love snappis!

  26. Sarah Hayes says:

I choose pad folding bc I dont have time for snappis or bongos!

    We love Snappis

  36. mttav says:

We’re padfolders/trifolders here. But I do like Boingos; I just never use mine since I lost one of them. When I have to choose between half a set of Boingos and a Snappi, though, I choose the solitary Boingo and just attach it like a Snappi with an amputated middle arm.

  37. Julie Ghrist says:

We use snappi’s we also have boingos but i seem to reach for the snappi first

  38. Wendy says:

I always get leaks when I try to pad fold. Gues I’m doing something wrong. We use snappi’s all the time. Tried a Boingo a few times, but didn’t like it.

  39. Patricia B says:

I either use pins or the pad fold.

  40. Geri Fink says:

I don’t own diaper pins or boingos. I have 2 snappis I use. With my prefolds I do a modified trifold with the back open on my small prefolds. On my large prefolds I do a newspaper fold. Works best for up front pee.

  41. Lianne says:

I have 2 snappis but I won’t have a chance to use them til our LO is born!

  42. Vanessa V. says:

If I’m not pad folding, I prefer boingos :)

Snappis but would love to try a Boingo!

  45. Erica R. says:

I used snappis for a while but they always ended up too bulky and little bits of diaper would poke out around her legs. Pad folding has worked out so much better for us.
